**Job Description** **General Purpose:** Responsible for all accounting activity relating to specific milk marketing division, for transactions that occur from farm pick-up through final sale. This includes: balancing raw milk load sales, billing customers, reporting information to the Milk Market Administrator, and performing analyses of financial information to provide support to management with accurate and timely reports. **Duties and Responsibilities:** + Maintains the general ledger for specific milk divisions, including the preparation and posting of journal entries necessary for monthly closing + Prepares and distributes invoices for customers in SAP using marketing price announcements and the appropriate Federal Order Classification of pounds and pricing + Prepares appropriate transfer charges and credits to and from other internal divisions or Fluid Areas + Prepares outside milk purchase calculations and creates payment requests for milk vendors related to the assigned division + Monitors all transaction activity regarding assigned milk division to confirm accuracy of detail, including the input of external purchased volume + Balances transactional data for all assigned customers while using detailed communication + Updates, corrects, or overrides production activity to maintain optimum association and abide by multiple Federal Order rules + Completes all necessary Milk Market Administrator reports for specific Federal Orders + Compiles various monthly closing reports for management’s review in preparation for producer payment processes + Reconciles all Balance Sheet general ledger accounts assigned and performs analyses as needed to resolve outstanding related items + Generates related monthly or quarterly reports of financial activity for management review + Creates bank deposits and general ledger entries for the Area while also interacting with Corporate personnel + Completes other analyses and projects as requested by the Accounting Manager **Requirements** **Education and Experience:** + Bachelor’s Degree with Emphasis in Accounting + 1+ years of Accounting experience **Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** + Working knowledge of Excel and GAAP + Ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing in a team environment + Self-motivated with initiative to enhance job functions and solve problems + Proven ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy while maintaining a high volume of output **Preferred Qualifications:** + SAP experience + Microsoft Excel experience + Work experience within milk marketing An Equal Opportunity Employer including Disabled/Veterans
