Job Title: Staff Accountant

Job Description

A large organization is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join its Corporate Accounting operations based in Lenexa, KS. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the company's financial goals.

Responsibilities

Reconcile sub-ledger accounts to the general ledger for all companies.Participate in the month-end close process.Prepare journal entries and perform other general accounting tasks.Engage in research and analytical problem-solving.Maintain a high level of detail orientation, reliability, and organization.Work independently and collaboratively with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.Respond to branch inquiries in a timely and professional manner.Prepare summary financial information and ad hoc reports for management as needed.Demonstrate good computer skills and learn new computer functionalities.Communicate effectively with others using various methods.Assist with external audits and prepare necessary schedules.Participate in special projects as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in reconciliation, journal entries, and fixed asset management.Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable.Familiarity with general ledger and accounting principles.Experience in month-end and financial statement preparation.Understanding of balance sheet and GAAP standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

A bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.1-3 years of experience as a Staff Accountant.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and formulas.

Work Environment

This position is based 100% in-office and offers a collaborative and energetic environment. The role reports to the Accounting Manager over the GL/fixed assets team, with a total of over 70 employees in the corporate office between accounting and finance teams. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
