Staff Accountant
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's team in Omaha, Nebraska. This role requires a highly organized individual who excels at managing financial records, preparing tax returns, and supporting general accounting operations. You will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy of financial data and compliance with regulations while contributing to the success of our advertising industry operations. Responsibilities: • Prepare and file corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. • Manage sales tax calculations and submissions in a timely and accurate manner. • Record journal entries and maintain the integrity of the general ledger. • Reconcile accounts and analyze financial data to provide accurate reporting. • Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial statements are completed on time. • Collaborate with internal teams to provide support for audits and resolve accounting discrepancies. • Monitor and update financial records to ensure consistency and accuracy. • Conduct periodic reviews of accounting systems and processes to identify areas for improvement. • Develop and maintain financial reports to support decision-making across departments. • Ensure the confidentiality and security of financial information and records. Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business • A minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate accounting or a similar role. • Strong knowledge of corporate tax regulations and sales tax processes. • Proficiency in managing journal entries and maintaining general ledger systems. • Familiarity with accounting software and tools; experience with NetSuite or Salesforce is a plus. • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights. • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with teams. • Capability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and professionalism.
