Staff Accountant
Description Staff Accountant Gardena, California Our client is a growing organization that is actively building and strengthening its accounting department. They are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their team in Gardena, CA. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys hands-on work, values accuracy, and wants to grow within a collaborative and evolving environment. In this position, the Staff Accountant will play a key role in daily accounting operations while working closely with the Controller and broader finance team. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and interested in contributing to process improvements as the company continues to scale. Key Responsibilities: + Manage Accounts Receivable functions, including generating customer invoices, processing and applying cash receipts, and following up on past-due accounts + Perform Accounts Payable activities such as coding and entering invoices, obtaining approvals, and coordinating timely vendor payments + Maintain accurate customer and vendor records while responding to inquiries and resolving discrepancies + Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing variances + Prepare internal financial statements and management reports to support leadership decision-making + Ensure the general ledger is accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with company policies and accounting standards + Support external audits by organizing documentation and responding to auditor requests + Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies + Assist with special projects and provide general accounting support as needed Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred + Two or more years of accounting experience, including exposure to AP and AR + Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes + Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel + Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines + Comfortable working in a growing and evolving business environment Why Join This Team: + Opportunity to help build and shape a growing accounting department + Broad exposure across multiple accounting functions + Collaborative team environment with opportunities for professional development + Competitive compensation and benefits For confidential consideration, please email your recruiter with Robert Half.
