Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accounting Analyst to join our team in Norfolk, Virginia. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial records, analyzing data, and ensuring accurate reporting to support strategic decisions. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical accounting skills and a proactive approach to improving processes while adhering to regulatory standards. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, addressing discrepancies as needed. • Generate and analyze financial statements to identify trends and variances. • Evaluate revenues and expenses to provide insights into business performance. • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support strategic planning. • Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results with forecasted figures. • Provide timely and relevant financial reports to support management decision-making. • Collaborate with teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency. • Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and company policies. • Support audits and other financial reviews by providing necessary documentation and analysis. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field. • Proficiency in managing journal entries and general ledger systems. • Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and practices. • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. • Ability to analyze financial statements and identify trends and variances. • Skilled in evaluating revenues, expenses, and overall business performance. • Proficient in using financial systems and tools to produce accurate reports. • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
