Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Stockton, California. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting processes, and delivering timely reports. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in accounting software. Responsibilities: • Prepare and analyze month-end reports, including fixed assets, leases, prepaids, and cash reconciliations. • Create and maintain accurate journal entries to support financial records. • Manage accounts payable processes efficiently and ensure timely payments. • Utilize accounting software, including QuickBooks Online, to maintain financial data. • Perform advanced Excel functions such as VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and SUMIF formulas. • Ensure compliance with corporate tax regulations and assist in preparing tax returns. • Handle sales tax calculations and reporting to meet regulatory requirements. • Maintain and update the general ledger to reflect accurate financial transactions. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required. • Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or a similar role. • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and other accounting software. • Strong knowledge of advanced Excel functions, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and SUMIF. • Demonstrated experience with corporate tax preparation and sales tax compliance. • Familiarity with general ledger maintenance and journal entry creation. • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines effectively.
