Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team in Auburn, Massachusetts. This role is integral to ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities: • Support the month-end closing process by performing key tasks within the accounting cycle and resolving operational variances. • Assist in preparing and submitting sales and use tax returns to ensure compliance with tax regulations. • Conduct monthly balance sheet account reconciliations to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial records. • Collaborate on the annual external audit process by providing necessary documentation and information. • Perform daily cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies to ensure accurate reporting. • Handle cost accounting responsibilities, such as analyzing labor utilization and company overhead expenses. • Contribute to monthly financial analysis by reviewing fluctuations in key expense categories. • Apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to ensure compliance in all accounting activities. • Utilize strong numerical and analytical skills to manage general ledger entries and reconciliation tasks effectively. • Communicate clearly and professionally to support team collaboration and address accounting-related inquiries.
