Staff Accountant
Description Our client is looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join a leading aerospace manufacturing company in the East Hanover, New Jersey area. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations, supporting accounts payable and receivable, general ledger activities, and month-end processes. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the success of the accounting team through detailed analysis and collaboration across departments. Salary is 85,000 - 100,000. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, 401k, and PTO. Responsibilities: • Ensure the general ledger remains accurate and up-to-date by processing consistent postings in compliance with accounting principles. • Execute month-end close tasks, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and generating financial reports. • Analyze the cost of goods sold, including labor, materials, and overhead, and collaborate with operations to address variances. • Partner with sales and operational teams to monitor sales trends, margins, and financial performance improvements. • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, payment runs, and resolution of discrepancies. • Maintain vendor records and oversee annual 1099 reporting. • Process payroll for weekly and bi-weekly cycles, ensuring compliance and accuracy. • Safeguard financial data integrity within the company’s systems and monitor transaction consistency. • Undertake special projects and additional duties to support the accounting team. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. • 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance. • Proficiency in GAAP accounting principles and relevant regulations. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with minimal supervision. • Authorization to work in the United States. • Familiarity with accounting processes in a manufacturing environment is preferred. • Knowledge of payroll regulations and experience with payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now or Vantage is a plus.
