Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Jericho, New York. This hybrid role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations within the real estate and property management industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and a proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review corporate tax filings, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. • Calculate and file sales tax reports accurately and on time. • Record journal entries and maintain the integrity of the general ledger. • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports. • Utilize MRI software to manage financial data and transactions effectively. • Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies. • Collaborate with other departments to support budgeting and forecasting processes. • Perform audits of financial documents to ensure compliance and accuracy. • Use Microsoft Excel to analyze financial data and create reports. • Maintain organized records and documentation for auditing purposes. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required. • At least 3 years of accounting experience with a focus on accuracy and detail. • Familiarity with the real estate or property management industry is preferred. • Proficiency in corporate tax preparation and sales tax reporting. • Strong knowledge of general ledger operations and journal entries. • Experience with MRI software is highly advantageous. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
