Description Robert Half has partnered with a Toledo-area nonprofit organization as they look for an experienced GL accountant to join their team. As the successful candidate, you will play a integral role in supporting the financial soundness of a mission-driven organization that provides an invaluable service to the Toledo community. You will have the opportunity to: • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accepted accounting principles and internal controls. • Support general accounting operations during staff absences, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, grant invoicing, and daily deposits. • Audit weekly accounts payable batches to verify invoice accuracy, proper authorization, and receipt documentation. • Process journal entries for organizational insurance, prepaid expenses, and monthly depreciation of fixed assets. • Reconcile various accounts such as Accounts Receivable, Investment Savings, Scully Fund, and Petty Cash. • Prepare monthly reconciliations for assigned General Ledger accounts. • Educate staff on accounting policies and procedures to promote adherence across departments. • Assist in maintaining electronic purchase order systems and provide related staff training. • Collaborate with auditors by preparing work papers and documentation for annual audits and external reviews. • Provide interim coverage for management roles, including Controller, Accounting Manager, or Accounts Payable Manager as needed. Requirements The ideal candidate will have: • A bachelor’s in accounting (or related field) • Minimum of two years of accounting experience, demonstrating knowledge of accounting procedures. • Integrity, reliability, and empathy. • Experience with GL maintainence and bank reconciliations. • Ability to process daily cash receipts and maintain accurate financial records.
