Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Conway, South Carolina. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations. • Manage sales tax filings and address related queries to uphold timely and correct submissions. • Record and reconcile journal entries, maintaining precision in financial transactions. • Oversee the general ledger to ensure all accounts are balanced and properly documented. • Collaborate with the finance team to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights. • Assist in audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries. • Monitor changes in tax laws and implement updates to maintain compliance. • Generate financial reports for management to support decision-making processes. • Contribute to process improvements within the accounting department to enhance efficiency. • Maintain organized records and documentation for easy retrieval and reference. Requirements • Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and filing. • Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and procedures. • Proficiency in recording and reconciling journal entries. • Familiarity with general ledger management and financial reporting. • Ability to analyze financial data and present findings effectively. • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Effective communication skills for collaboration within a team.
