Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Oak Harbor, Ohio. As part of a small yet dynamic company, you will play a key role in managing financial operations while contributing to process improvements and enhancing efficiencies. Responsibilities: • Enter and process invoices with accuracy and timeliness. • Post cash transactions and reconcile accounts to ensure financial records are balanced. • Manage payroll functions and assist with month-end closing activities. • Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive financial data in a small-town environment. • Analyze purchasing practices and recommend cost-saving opportunities. • Prepare financial reports and conduct analysis to support decision-making. • Develop metrics and tools to improve financial processes and inventory management. • Identify areas for improvement and implement streamlined procedures. • Collaborate with team members to ensure clear communication and problem resolution. • Utilize accounting software and Excel for efficient data management and reporting. Requirements • Experience with journal entries, general ledger, and T accounts. • Strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure financial data is accurate and complete. • Excellent communication skills to address issues and resolve discrepancies effectively. • Familiarity with month-end close processes and financial reporting. • Proficiency in accounting software and basic Excel functions, such as VLOOKUP. • Ability to adapt to new systems and processes with a proactive mindset. • Willingness to learn inventory accounting and contribute to cross-functional improvements. • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred, but not required.
