Staff Accountant
Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Memphis, Tennessee. This role involves managing financial operations, analyzing data, and ensuring accurate reporting to support organizational goals. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in accounting practices and advanced proficiency in Excel to handle complex data sets effectively. Responsibilities: • Review and process journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to support timely financial reporting. • Analyze and resolve chargeback issues, collaborating with distributors to recover lost revenue. • Investigate and reconcile deductions to ensure proper accounting treatment. • Manage accounts receivable processes, including resolving disputes and discrepancies. • Perform detailed data cleanup and analysis using Microsoft Excel. • Work with large and complex datasets to identify trends and discrepancies. • Collaborate with the Sales Operations team to address issues related to pricing contracts and chargebacks. • Support financial audits and prepare necessary documentation. • Utilize NetSuite to streamline accounting processes and reporting. Requirements • Proven experience in journal entries and general ledger reconciliation. • Strong knowledge of chargebacks, deductions, and accounts receivable processes. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and cleanup. • Familiarity with NetSuite or similar accounting software. • Understanding of pharmaceutical pricing contracts and accounting transactions. • Ability to work with large, complex datasets and resolve discrepancies. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external distributors.
