Overview
The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks to support accurate financial reporting and compliance. Key duties include reconciling accounts, conducting trend and completeness analyses, and preparing journal entries and reports to support monthly ledger close. This role manages billings and cost reports for the Department of Labor, researches general ledger inquiries, and responds to accounting-related issues. The Staff Accountant also reconciles corporate balance sheet accounts, performs analytical reviews, and assists with audit preparation by compiling corporate schedules for external auditors. Additionally, the role monitors adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal company procedures.
Responsibilities
+ Perform daily and monthly accounting functions including journal entries, account reconciliations, and fixed asset subledger transactions in Oracle Fusion.
+ Prepare and review Capital Expenditure Requests to monitor compliance with company policies and procedures.
+ Process capital purchase orders in Oracle Fusion.
+ Manage invoicing and payment process for capital expenditures in Oracle Fusion.
+ Assist in reconciling discrepancies with vendors and accounts payable.
+ Act as a resource to the operations in obtaining information or following up on outstanding Capital Expenditure Requests and purchase orders.
+ Participates in related monthly accounting activities to ensure timely ledger close.
+ Performs all other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
+ Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
+ General accounting experience
+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
+ Experience with Oracle Fusion is a plus
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
+ Travel up to 25%
