Job Title: Staff Accountant
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to manage the payment cycle, resolve discrepancies, and ensure proper reconciliation to the General Ledger. This role involves ensuring the accurate accounting of payments made for scholarship programs and reviewing invoices for accuracy to mitigate risk prior to payment. The Staff Accountant will collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and support special projects as needed.
Responsibilities
Manage the payment cycle and ensure timely processing.Resolve discrepancies and ensure reconciliation to the General Ledger.Accurately account for all payments made for scholarship programs.Review invoices for accuracy and mitigate risk prior to payment.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues.Support special projects as needed.Essential Skills
Proficiency in Accounting, General Ledger, Reconciliation, and Journal Entry.Experience in month-end reporting.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Strong written and verbal communication skills.2-4 years of relevant experience or a degree in Accounting.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous remote work experience.Strong organizational skills.Work Environment
This is a remote position requiring previous remote work experience. The candidate must be available during core business hours, 8 AM - 5 PM EST. The role offers a contract-to-hire opportunity with great benefits upon conversion.Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, Florida.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
