Pizza Loves Emily/Emmy Squared Pizza , is a dynamic and fast-growing restaurant group seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing Accounting Team. This is a hybrid position based out of our Nashville headquarters and will report directly to the Controller and the Chief Financial Officer. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in monitoring and reviewing restaurant accounting activities and financial reporting while enjoying a supportive culture, fun work environment with casual dress, growth opportunities, competitive pay, full benefits, and of course—great pizza and burgers! Job Responsibilities: + Support Accounts Payable with the weekly check run process + Prepare weekly and period-end journal entries + Review and approve invoices for assigned restaurants + Calculate and file sales tax returns for all company locations + Complete bank, general ledger, and balance sheet reconciliations accurately and on time + Partner closely with restaurant management teams for assigned locations + Assist with month-end close responsibilities, ensuring timely completion + Maintain financial procedures and confirm compliance through preparation of reports and statements + Support financial reporting by preparing, analyzing, and presenting financial information + Coordinate and resolve accounting issues as they arise + Identify process improvement opportunities and take a leadership role in implementing changes + Assist with special projects or other duties as assigned Job Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Accounting or Finance + 1+ years of accounting experience directly related to listed responsibilities + Deadline-focused, organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment + Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills + Advanced Excel skills and high overall PC proficiency required + Restaurant/Hospitality experience preferred; knowledge of Restaurant365 or POS systems is a strong plus + Service-minded, approachable, and detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills + Ability to think clearly, act quickly, and make sound decisions under pressure + Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and follow up effectively Emmy Squared/Pizza Loves Emily is an Equal Opportunity Employer and treats all applicants for employment equally based upon job-related qualifications and without regard to race, sex, color, age, sexual orientation, gender identification, marital status, military or veteran status, national origin, disability, religion, political activity, or any other characteristic protected by law.
