Description Robert Half is looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's team in Cary. In this role, you will be responsible for managing various accounting functions to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial records. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of the company while working in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Responsibilities: • Record and reconcile daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries. • Support month-end closing activities by preparing journal entries, conducting account reconciliations, and generating financial reports. • Track and monitor expenses for construction projects to ensure cost allocation is accurate and adheres to budgetary guidelines. • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant federal, state, and local regulations in all financial activities. • Prepare necessary documentation and schedules to assist with internal and external audit processes. • Maintain and update accounting systems to ensure data accuracy for financial analysis and reporting. • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency within accounting operations. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • At least 3 years of experience in general accounting, with preference for candidates with construction or homebuilding industry background. • Proficiency in managing journal entries, general ledger accounts, and account reconciliations. • Familiarity with accounting software and systems, with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
