Staff Accountant
Description We are looking for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in Midland, Texas. In this role, you will handle essential accounting functions such as settlement calculations, invoicing, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in midstream accounting and contribute to the smooth operation of financial processes. Responsibilities: • Calculate liquid and gas settlements to generate accurate producer payments for assigned systems. • Prepare and issue sales invoices while monitoring payment status and performing monthly reviews of accounts receivable aging. • Process monthly journal entries and compile comprehensive gross margin reports. • Validate and track monthly imbalances by comparing measurement volumes with scheduled volumes and third-party pipeline statements. • Distribute settlement, imbalance, and operator statements to relevant counterparties in a timely manner. • Address customer inquiries related to settlements, providing clear and thorough assistance. • Maintain and update company information, including address changes, within accounting systems. • Prepare truck settlements by completing monthly calculations, journal entries, and margin reports. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required. • Familiarity with midstream accounting practices and software is preferred. • Proficiency in accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP. • Strong computer skills with an aptitude for financial data analysis. • Excellent teamwork, organizational, and communication abilities. • Specialist/Analyst level requires 2-5 years of relevant experience; Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires 5-8 years; Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires 8+ years. • Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
