Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Dallas, Texas. In this role, you will play a key part in managing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting audits. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate with various stakeholders and contribute to the financial integrity of our organization. Responsibilities: • Prepare journal entries for recurring items, including taxes, mortgage accruals, insurance, and other accrued expenses. • Record daily bank transactions by creating precise journal entries within Yardi. • Perform monthly bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies. • Support external financial audits by compiling and organizing necessary data. • Maintain up-to-date roll-forward property operational workpapers. • Work closely with team members and managers to address and resolve accounting discrepancies. • Communicate effectively with property managers, owners, and internal stakeholders to address financial matters. Requirements • Proficiency in corporate tax, including sales tax and corporate tax returns. • Strong experience in preparing journal entries and maintaining the general ledger. • Solid understanding of financial reconciliation processes. • Familiarity with accounting software, particularly Yardi, is preferred. • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
