Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Bay Shore, New York. This role requires a skilled individual with a strong background in accounting practices and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency. You will play a key role in maintaining financial records, preparing tax documents, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure compliance and accuracy. • Manage sales tax processes, including timely filing and reconciliation. • Record and maintain journal entries to support accurate financial reporting. • Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring all accounts are balanced and properly documented. • Utilize Epicor software to streamline accounting procedures and reporting. • Collaborate with team members to analyze financial data and improve processes. • Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and support. • Stay current with tax laws and regulations to ensure all practices align with legal requirements. • Contribute to the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting with attention to detail. • Proficient in corporate tax preparation and sales tax management. • Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger processes. • Experience with Epicor or similar accounting software. • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
