Description Accountant – Commercial Property Management Are you an experienced accounting professional with a passion for precision, reporting, and the dynamic world of commercial property management? A leading commercial property management company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join their growing team. Position Details: + Location: Honolulu, HI, 100% onsite + Schedule: Full-time. About the Role: As the Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in the financial operations of our organization by ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with accounting standards. Your primary focus will be on managing financial processes that directly impact tenant relations, operational effectiveness, and long-term property performance. Key tasks include reconciling Common Area Maintenance (CAM) expenses, preparing financial statements, making journal entries, and performing routine accounting duties. Key Accountant Responsibilities: + Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. + Handle Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate completion. + Post and manage journal entries to maintain accurate financial records. + Oversee general ledger accounting and ensure all entries comply with GAAP standards. + Assist with budget preparation, variance analysis, and forecasting for property portfolios. + Ensure timely reconciliation of accounts payable and receivable. + Maintain compliance with internal controls and help improve accounting processes as needed. + Collaborate with property management teams and support month-end and year-end closing processes. + Respond to auditor inquiries and assist with tax preparation. Requirements What We’re Looking For: + Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required). + Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years in general or property accounting (preferred) with direct experience in CAM reconciliations and financial statement preparation. + Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (Yardi, MRI, or other property management software is a plus) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. + Attributes: Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
