Description Job Description: Staff Accountant Location: Washington, DC Salary: $65K-80K My client is who is located in Washington, DC, is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to handle day-to-day accounting tasks efficiently. Key Responsibilities: + Assist with the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. + Perform general ledger reconciliations and maintain trial balance accounts. + Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately. + Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entry preparation. + Prepare and analyze bank reconciliations. + Assist in budget preparation and expense analysis to support strategic decision-making. + Conduct variance analyses and provide detailed reporting to management. + Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies in line with GAAP. + Collaborate with other finance team members to improve overall efficiency and workflow. + Respond to requests for financial information and analysis from senior leadership. Requirements Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. + 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred. + Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles. + Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or SAP) and Microsoft Excel. + Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. + Ability to communicate effectively across various levels of the organization. + Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. + CPA certification or progress toward CPA designation is a plus but not required.
