Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Louisville, Kentucky. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. • Manage sales tax filings and reporting to maintain accuracy and timeliness. • Record and reconcile journal entries, ensuring all financial data is precise and up-to-date. • Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring proper documentation and alignment with accounting principles. • Collaborate with relevant departments to gather necessary financial data for reporting and analysis. • Conduct regular audits to verify the accuracy of financial records and identify discrepancies. • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review. • Provide support during tax audits and other compliance-related activities. • Stay updated on tax laws and accounting standards to ensure best practices are followed. • Participate in process improvements to enhance efficiency in financial operations. Requirements • Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and compliance. • Proficiency in recording and reconciling journal entries. • Hands-on experience with general ledger management. • Familiarity with accounting principles and financial reporting standards. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
