Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Acton, Massachusetts. This role involves handling the daily accounting operations of a small business while providing essential support to upper management. Responsibilities: • Manage daily accounting tasks, including journal entries and general ledger maintenance. • Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments. • Prepare and review financial statements to support informed decision-making. • Handle sales tax filings and compliance with local and state regulations. • Collaborate with upper management to provide financial insights and recommendations. • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records. • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures. • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company guidelines. • Support year-end closing activities and audits as needed. • Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses as required. Requirements • Proven experience in accounting, preferably in a small business environment. • Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and compliance. • Proficiency in managing journal entries and maintaining the general ledger. • Familiarity with accounts payable processes and financial statement preparation. • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail. • Strong organizational and time-management abilities. • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office. • Ability to collaborate effectively with a team and communicate financial information clearly.
