Description We are looking for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in Long Beach, California. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end processes, and ensuring compliance with company policies. Responsibilities: • Prepare and record journal entries for both recurring and unique financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance. • Maintain thorough documentation for all journal entries to meet audit standards and policy requirements. • Reconcile general ledger accounts, verifying the accuracy of financial records across various business entities. • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely completion of all accounting tasks. • Coordinate with the Accounts Payable team to manage invoice intake, processing, and payment timelines. • Review and verify general ledger coding for accuracy and adherence to supporting documentation. • Address vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely and precise manner. • Support Accounts Receivable processes, including customer invoicing, receipt applications, and resolving unapplied payments. • Reconcile bank accounts and credit card transactions to ensure accurate financial reporting. • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper billing, accruals, and intercompany transaction reconciliations. Requirements • Strong knowledge of corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return preparation. • Proficiency in preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts. • Experience in month-end close processes and financial reconciliations. • Familiarity with managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. • Ability to resolve payment and billing discrepancies effectively and efficiently. • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate financial schedules and reports. • Strong understanding of internal controls and compliance with accounting policies. • Experience supporting external and internal audit processes through documentation and reporting.
