Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Dallas, Texas. This role involves managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Responsibilities: • Develop a thorough understanding of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit regulations and ensure compliance with relevant standards. • Prepare accurate and timely monthly accounting reports and financial statements. • Assemble and distribute monthly reporting packages to property stakeholders. • Oversee monthly close procedures completed by the Property Management team. • Maintain effective communication with Property Management and assist with accounting-related tasks. • Provide support to the Accounts Payable department when required. • Create quarterly and annual accounting reports within established deadlines. • Coordinate with property stakeholders to address ad hoc requests and provide necessary documentation. • Organize annual audit documentation and serve as a liaison with auditors. • Post monthly and yearly journal entries and manage all General Ledger responsibilities for properties within the assigned portfolio. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minimum GPA of 3.0. • Familiarity with Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) regulations is a plus. • Experience in property accounting is preferred. • Proficiency with accounting software such as RealPage, Yardi, Sage 300 Construction, or Acumatica is an advantage. • Intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Excel are required. • Strong understanding of General Ledger management and journal entry preparation. • Knowledge of month-end close processes and financial statement preparation. • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
