Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Property Accountant to join their dynamic team. Position Overview: The Property Accountant will be responsible for preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements, maintaining accurate accounting records, and collaborating across departments to support the financial operations of a designated portfolio of real estate assets. Key Responsibilities: + Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial statements for approximately 15 properties + Record journal entries including accruals, amortizations, and reclassifications + Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies + Analyze and research budget-to-actual variances + Coordinate with mortgage providers regarding loan payments, escrows, and reserve accounts + Calculate and process investor distributions + Prepare comprehensive year-end work paper packages for tax and audit purposes + Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and respond to inquiries + Participate in special projects and ad hoc reporting as requested by leadership + Support the accounting for complex real estate transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing, and capital projects For immediate consideration please call Jeff Sokolowski directly at (248)365-6131 or apply today. Requirements Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field + Minimum of 2 years’ general ledger accounting experience; public accounting background is a plus + Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP + Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software platforms + Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills + Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment + Excellent verbal and written communication skills + Team-oriented with a career-growth mindset + Experience in real estate or property accounting is highly preferred + CPA certification is a plus Additional Information: This role is a great fit for someone looking to grow within a stable and expanding company.
