Staff Accountant
Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Seattle, Washington. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records through effective reconciliations, tax filings, and compliance with accounting standards. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support key financial processes and contribute to operational improvements. Responsibilities: • Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts. • Maintain fixed asset ledgers and depreciation schedules to ensure accurate reporting. • Generate monthly financial statements and reports for fiscally sponsored organizations and designated funds. • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies between bank statements and general ledger balances. • Manage credit card administration and expense reporting processes, ensuring proper approvals. • Prepare and submit tax filings for city and state B& O/Sales & Use taxes on a regular basis. • Provide backup support for accounts payable, payroll administration, and reconciliation tasks led by senior accounting staff. • Collaborate on process improvement initiatives to enhance financial accuracy and operational efficiency. • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting procedures, identifying and addressing errors effectively. • Support external audit preparations by providing necessary documentation and insights. The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $95,000. Benefits: Medical/Dental/Vision - 100% paid for employee Life, AD& D and Long Term Disability Insurance 403b with match 3 weeks PTO 2 weeks sick time 13 paid holidays + 4 wellness days Requirements • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and month-end close processes. • Proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Oracle, SAP, or Dynamics 365 Business Central. • Experience with bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies effectively. • Familiarity with GAAP accounting principles and their application. • Previous experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes. • Ability to manage tax filings and compliance with city and state regulations. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy. • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse stakeholders.
