Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Hoboken, New Jersey. In this role, you will contribute to essential accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management. Responsibilities: • Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records. • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely reporting. • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows, including invoice processing and cash receipts. • Reconcile bank accounts and other financial statements to ensure accuracy. • Collaborate with internal teams to verify proper coding of invoices and resolve discrepancies. • Monitor and analyze billing activities, addressing outstanding balances and discrepancies as needed. • Support the preparation of financial reports and audits by providing necessary documentation. • Utilize accounting software such as Yardi to streamline data entry and reporting tasks. • Contribute to special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as assigned. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • A minimum of 2-5 years of accounting experience in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating attention to detail. • Proficiency in Yardi software is required, along with advanced Excel skills (e.g., V-lookups, PivotTables). • Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines independently and as part of a team. • Exceptional communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude. • Familiarity with additional accounting tools such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Oracle, or SAP is a plus.
