Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. This role is integral to ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining the integrity of accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while adhering to deadlines. Responsibilities: • Perform monthly journal entries and ensure timely completion of scheduled tasks. • Reconcile multiple bank accounts, including operating, payroll, and deposit accounts. • Conduct account reconciliations to verify accuracy and completeness of financial data. • Analyze variances and prepare detailed reports to support financial decision-making. • Maintain fixed asset schedules and ensure proper accounting treatment. • Manage prepaids and accruals to streamline expense tracking. • Prepare payroll tax reconciliations and ensure compliance with regulations. • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial records are up-to-date. • Assist with external audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries. • Provide insights through financial analysis to guide strategic planning and operational improvements. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field. • 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in financial reporting and analysis. • Familiarity with the construction industry is a plus. • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables. • Strong knowledge of internal controls and auditing procedures. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities. • Experience with Foundation software is preferred. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
