STA Site Battery Engineer

Ford Motor Company is looking for an experienced High Voltage Battery manufacturing professional to operate on a skilled team of technical engineers and work with our battery suppliers to ensure quality products are produced for Ford EVs. In this position you will act as the main point of contact for quality, capacity, and program launch between Ford and our supply base. What you'll do... Manage supplier launch readiness assessments and ensure compliance to launch milestones, identify issues and drive the teams to quick resolution Monitor and evaluate supplier performance regarding quality, delivery, and technical capability for components supplied to Ford. Drive Continuous improvement using statistical tools. Drive engineering teams towards containment and root cause analysis on issues raised from design reviews, pre builds, and production build events to deliver the level of 6 sigma quality required in the EV space. Review supplier process documentation for proper failure modes and controls. Generate reports on supplier performance, quality trends, and improvement initiatives, presenting findings to relevant stakeholders. Evaluate capacity at suppliers and sub-suppliers. Proficiency in core quality tools such as PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), MSA (Measurement System Analysis), and 8D problem-solving. Provide technical expertise and support to internal teams (e.g., manufacturing, product engineering, purchasing) regarding supplier issues and component specifications. You'll have... Bachelor's or master’s degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Battery or electrical systems experience preferred 3 years minimum working on an engineering team with proven track record & delivery of results. Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required, up to 80% of work week Ability to build strong working relationships with all stakeholders including program teams, purchasing, manufacturing, STA & suppliers. Even better, you may have... Professional Certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green/Black Belt. Experience with tracking on-site launch deliverables at supplier sites and/or Ford Assembly Plants. Excellent verbal & written communication skills. Strong leadership behaviors with good collaborative decision-making skills.
