We are the SSP (Support Systems and Processes) SRE Automation Team at Fortinet and passionate about building, improving, and maintaining various information systems that serve our employees worldwide, as well as consumer-facing services with high traffic volumes around the world. Service Reliability and Security are our top priorities. As we expand our global deployment, we are currently seeking for an SRE specialist experienced in System Administration, Automation, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) who enjoys collaborating with a cross-functional team.
As a SRE Specialist, you will be:
Orchestrating the development and management of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks to automate the provisioning of operating systems, applications, and network infrastructure. Architecting and implementing global Kubernetes clusters, integrating robust security measures to safeguard applications and data within the cluster. Proficiently administering Linux servers across distributions such as Ubuntu, Red Hat, and Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL). Monitoring the performance metrics of servers, Virtual Machines (VMs), applications, and network components to ensure optimal operation. Designing, maintaining, and executing a suite of tools and scripts to streamline automation and enable self-service capabilities. Diagnosing and resolving issues related to security appliances, servers, storage systems, Kubernetes deployments, and network infrastructure to maintain operational integrity and security. Provide on-call support to the critical services.
We Are Looking For:
Master/Bachelor degree in Computer Technologies related fields. 5+ years of practical administration experience in Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu). Required experience with Linux operation system itself as well as with production-level software and hardware. 3+ years of practical administration experience in Virtualized environments (VMware, LXD, MicroK8s, OpenStack) 3+ years of practical experience with automation tools (Ansible/Terraform). Knowledge of monitoring network/server systems via SNMP and Zabbix. Knowledge of observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc. Knowledge of industry-standard protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, LDAP, HTTPS, SAML). Knowledge of CI/CD platforms and DevOps tools (GitLab CI/CD, AWX, Foreman, Docker). Knowledge of working with scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, Python, Go). Familiar with automating the process of applying security patches to a large number of VMs. Highly organized, able to multi-task, the ability to work individually, within a team and with other groups. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written across all user levels. Strong understanding of security standards, best practices and their implementation. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Bonus Experience
Knowledge of Kubernetes and Micro Services is a big plus. Knowledge of Software Defined Storage and Networks. Knowledge of Data Center Passive/Active Infrastructure is a plus. Knowledge of working with networking equipment such as switches and firewalls, besides have a good understanding of computer networking protocols such as STP, OSPF, and BGP. Prior experience with running and maintaining a 24/7 global service.
The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $112,000 - $124,000 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
