Sr.Manager, Software Development, CloudTune
Amazon
Description
CloudTune builds foundational technology that enables capacity assurance and infrastructure cost controllership for Amazon’s Stores Digital and Other (SDO) businesses as customer of AWS. Our systems and processes provide illusion of cloud elasticity at SDO’s scale, rate of innovation and business agility needs, while eliminating undifferentiated effort across these domains.
As a Sr. SDM, you will take ownership of safety, reliability and observability of the sequences of automated actions that flow cross CloudTune systems. These cross-CloudTune actions are typically triggered by updates to high velocity events, scaling guidance, central policies or asynchronous config changes by SDO service owners using our Scaling Planner offering.
You will own long-term architectural vision to accelerate shift toward intent based capacity management, away from current approach that requires material inputs entry from SDO builders.
Our vision is to provide cloud elasticity at SDO’s scale and rate of innovation. We provide a zero-touch cost controllership and scaling experience for SDO. If you are interested in building automated decision-making systems that execute 100Ks of monthly capacity procurement and allocation action for 100+ events per year across 20+ stores and thousands of services, then this job is for you.
Key job responsibilities
As a Sr. Software Development Manager, you will:
• Lead teams of experienced Software Development Engineers to build services to manage reactive and proactive scaling actions across thousands of SDO services.
• You deliver robust deployment systems with safeties and troubleshooting visibility. You ensure high standards and will be responsible for the quality of services your team creates.
• Use software development methodologies to guide the team’s workload and to build for long-term with incremental deliverables.
• Work with partners to create multi-year product roadmap and ensure that scaling remains safe and efficient. Meet and communicate with stakeholders regularly to ensure your solutions are meeting the needs of the business
• Participate in strategic planning, brainstorm improvements, and work to uphold the quality bar across the organization.
• You work across a great number of internal teams and organizations to gain further adoption of your services and gracefully integrate both experimental and production solutions they need.
