AWS is seeking a Sr. Microsoft Licensing Specialist who will be responsible for enabling the AWS field sales teams with licensing rules, strategies, programs, and best practices to help customers identify cost savings opportunities for software licensing and licensing renewals. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise with Microsoft licensing as well as experience working directly with customers and Partners. They will provide expert advice and consultation to AWS field sales teams and Partners on licensing solutions for complex customer scenarios; including decisions on whether or not to renew long-term commercial licensing agreements and the identification of optimization strategies for licensing cost savings during cloud migrations. They will work with the Sales and Solutions Architect specialist roles, as well as field sales teams, on strategic opportunities.

A day in the life
On a typical day, you may host a webinar to educate AWS field team members on licensing strategies, and then join meetings with key customers to clarify licensing terms and help them optimize their Microsoft-related purchases. Your day may include meeting with product/engineering teams to discuss upcoming launches and provide guidance on licensing considerations. You might also create and update educational materials on Microsoft licensing for internal use.

This role is part of the AWS Infrastructure Migration and Modernization team. We strive to help customers use data to inform their migration decisions and offer optimization recommendations. We also provide prescriptive guidance on the migration and modernization pathways that support their goals for moving to AWS.
