Product Engineering Technical Program Manager( PE TPM) works closely with teams located in both US and China throughout the design cycle. TPM is responsible for driving Mechanical supplier facing cross-functional teams and supply base to achieve the project goals. This role is the focal point of contact in China for all Mechanical activities. TPM needs close communication and teamwork with the US based teams such as Product Design, PD EPM, System EPM, ID etc., to ensure the projects are progressing according to schedule.
TPM is responsible for closely monitoring and driving China side activities including DFM, tooling release, process qualification, and material preparation for builds. Working closely with the Mechanical Process Engineer (MPE), Tooling Engineer (TE), Global Commodity Manager (GCM), Supplier Quality Manager (SQM) and Reliability Engineer (REL). PE TPM is also responsible for driving suppliers to ensure the schedules on track, issues resolved and quality requirements met.
The Role and Major Responsibilities:
- Overall program owner within PE team for mechanical components development
- Act as focal point for all China side Mechanical Component Development
- Drive risk mitigations with China based teams and communicate outward to a cross functional audience
- Maintain close communication with the US based core team members such as PD, PD TPM, System TPM and ID to ensure issue resolution and schedule
- Work closely with Mechanical Process Engineering teams, Tooling Engineering teams, and suppliers to keep tooling and material schedules on track
- Lead critical issue resolution throughout product development cycles.
- Travel domestically and internationally to supplier sites and Amazon US as needed to keep project on schedule
- Drive and track mechanical material readiness for Engineering builds
- Lead meetings to keep supplier facing cross functional teams organized and focused throughout design cycle
- Lead meetings to make good sync up between China based teams and US based teams
- Work with cross-functionally managing a diverse group of engineering, operations and product management professional proficient at creating and tracking complex development schedules, tracking risks and issues
