Role Summary Join us in advancing the future of electric vehicles at Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies by taking a pivotal role in managing the software releases that enhance the everyday experience for our customers. You will be working with cross-functional teams across distinct brands to manage customer release programs delivered over-the-air (OTA). The role involves working collaboratively with interconnected domains to manage development milestones, specifically leveraging deliverables from one program to strategically drive the progress of another. You will work closely with software development, integration and validation teams to ensure seamless delivery of new software releases across multiple programs and variants. You’ll also be key in managing interdependencies across teams throughout all vehicle development phases from planning, deployment and post release validation across the vehicle program leveraging milestones from one program to strategically drive the progress of another. Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scope and plan the release schedule for monthly OTA updates, ensuring alignment with vehicle hardware capabilities and software development timelines. Work with technical leads to identify and prioritize bugs/features for inclusion in each release based on technical risk, complexity, and delivery milestones. Proactively identify, track, and mitigate cross-domain and hardware-software dependencies, ensuring clear communication and coordination between hardware, firmware, software, and test teams to resolve blockers and maintain release velocity. Manage the integration and release of software and firmware across different hardware versions and platforms from initial prototyping through mass production and end-of-life. This includes understanding the impact of hardware changes on software compatibility and performance. Lead technical discussions and be responsible for executing software processes and strategy frameworks, allocating workstreams and roles as well as creating JIRA tasks Manage software requirements across the end-to-end vehicle development lifecycle, from initial definition through validation and deployment. Identify and assess potential risks to release schedules and quality, developing and executing mitigation plans in collaboration with engineering and product teams. Understand the technical architecture and underlying systems of multiple domains to effectively anticipate challenges, facilitate technical discussions, and make informed decisions. Oversee post-release monitoring, incident response coordination, and conduct post-mortems to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement. Qualifications BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related technical fields with 5+ years relevant experience 5+ years of Technical or Engineering Program Management experience. Experience with the entire Software Development Lifecycle from user story creation to validation. Understanding of Software Defined Vehicle architectures and systems. Experience with iterative test and validation strategies. Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills. Expert in agile and waterfall development process using Jira and other program management tools. Proven track record with software development project planning, progress tracking, and risk management. Pay Disclosure Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $132,100 - $165,100 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
