Description:  The Senior Technical Consultant will need to understand the strategic direction of the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) and its supporting IT applications and architectures. This resource will lead the DIFS Agency Services technical team in the design, development, and implementation of web applications that expand DIFS online presence. This resource will prepare technical specifications, and design and construct solutions in .NET that meet State of Michigan standards for security, usability, performance and availability. This resource must be an expert .NET developer, and must be willing and able to mentor staff and transfer knowledge. Communication and coordination with .NET and PowerBuilder developers working on all other aspects of the projects is required.
Skills Required: 
.NET, C#, Visual Studio Team Foundation Server, SQL Server and/or Oracle Databases, Microsoft Office Suite Oral & written communication skills. Leadership skills. 

Skills Preferred: Mobile Solutions

Experience Required: 
• 10+ years of direct work experience designing and developing complex web applications using .NET/C#. • Experience with secure coding techniques and meeting ADA compliance. • 10+ years of work experience developing complex web application that access SQL Server and/or Oracle databases. • Experience designing databases, and creating database tables, keys, foreign keys, triggers, functions, procedures, and views. • Experience in writing and performance tuning of SQL scripts. • Experience using sound source control methodologies and tools. 

Experience Preferred: Familiar with State of Michigan IT policies, procedures and standards.

Education Required: Degree in a computer/computer science related field.
