As a Senior Systems Engineer-TRP, you will work with the Baker Hughes Americas Service Engineering team, leading Trip Reduction Program (TRP) projects for contractual customers in the region. You will carry out a root cause analysis of top offenders causing forced shutdowns on critical rotating equipment, including Gas Turbines, Centrifugal Compressors, Motors, Steam Turbines, Reciprocating Compressors etc., and related auxiliaries. Continuous alignment with project and service engineering teams and vendors is requested, ensuring the service provided is aligned with customer expectations.
As a Senior Systems Engineer-TRP you will be responsible for:
Lead Trip Reduction Program (TRP) projects for specific Customer Service Agreement (CSA) customers or fleets in the region
Act as a focal point for assigned projects, providing technical leadership in turbomachinery by closely tracking and managing technical issues to resolution, coordinating and communicating with customer representatives and internal & vendor organizations, fulfilling customized evaluations and optimization studies, and maintaining alignment between site and BH Engineering
Technical assessment of fleet composed of gas turbines, steam turbines, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, ensuring adherence to engineering policies and procedures.
Knowledge of VSDS, electric motors, gearboxes, auxiliaries, and balance of plant operations in the LNG space is preferredAnalyze the reliability behavior of accessories to enhance the product line
Ability to manage engineering projects as a technical leader by coordinating activities of cross-functional teams
Lead Root Cause Analyses (RCA) on equipment through field experience analysis at site or fleet level
Define validation plans and measure the effectiveness of applied corrective actions
Focus on maintenance optimization of auxiliary systems, determining frequency, tasks, and criticalities to extend the fleet Mean Time Between Maintenance interval
Interface with CSA managers to define Scope of Work and schedule for new requests
Proactive approach and effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders to drive excellence in project execution and reliability enhancement
Analyze data and alerts generated by BH and vendor Monitoring & Diagnostic (M&D) systems to prevent asset failures and optimize asset performance and operation
Actively participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews, contributing valuable insights
Conduct risk prioritization at the machine, subsystem, and component levels
Perform Failure Mode and Effect Analyses (FMEA) at the component level, identifying critical items for machine availability and proposing improvements for maintenance optimization and/or design modification
Review of technical documentation such as trip root cause analyses, anomaly notifications, and monthly reports
Navigating and interpreting site-specific control software (e.g. MarkVI/VIe, MicroNet/Plus, RX3i/RX7i, etc.) and engineering documents (e.g. P&ID, Instrument List, Wiring Diagram) to support technical analyses
Validate performance calculations on monitored equipment, identify non-conformities
Support the development and deployment of diagnostic systems in terms of hardware, software, data acquisition, analytics, and applications
Provide information about the latest advancements in Conversion, Modification, and Upgrade (CM&U) opportunities to customers and assist with the implementation of any such CM&Us
Support testing and troubleshooting activities at the site, case by a case-by-case basis for travel to the site

To be successful in this role, you will require:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university
Minimum 5 years of technical experience in gas turbines, steam turbines, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, electrical equipment including Variable Speed Drive Systems (VSDS), motors, generators, and relevant auxiliaries Experience with LCI (Load Commutated Inverter) and relevant design (including harmonic filters, eHouses, controls, etc.)
Familiarity with control software and logic (e.g. Mark VI/VIe, MicroNet/Plus)
Experience with interpreting engineering documents (P&ID, Instrument List, etc.)
Experience with Bently Nevada System1 or other industry vibration condition monitoring systems and vibration analysis
Sound analytical and troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of BH products and applications with reference to the service environment
English fluency and ability to work in a global environment.
