As a Senior Supply Chain Manager for External Fulfillment, you will be at the forefront of revolutionizing Amazon's Simplified Forward Fulfillment (SFF) program, a high-visibility initiative that reduces cost to serve while delivering exceptional customer experiences. In this high-impact role, you will drive the strategic expansion of SFF's business value, launch new ASIN selections, and adapt our operations to the evolving landscape of Amazon's supply chain ecosystem.
SFF represents Amazon's next-generation approach to fulfilling fast-moving, high-cube household essentials by reducing operational touches, while utilizing existing infrastructure to forward-deploy inventory closer to customers. You will be instrumental in scaling this program from its current 24 sites to ambitious expansion targets, while maintaining our customer-obsessed standards.
The ideal candidate combines an obsession with diving deep into complex data systems to expose root causes with the strategic vision to translate findings into scalable, enterprise-wide solutions. You will work at the intersection of advanced analytics, operational excellence, and strategic planning to unlock SFF's full potential across Amazon's supply chain network.
This role demands a unique blend of analytical rigor and strategic thinking. You must be comfortable navigating ambiguous, fast-paced environments where tactical execution and strategic initiatives run in parallel. Success requires the ability to synthesize complex performance data - from TPH improvements to inventory optimization models - into actionable strategies that drive measurable business outcomes.
Key job responsibilities
Strategic Program Expansion: Lead end-to-end analysis and execution of SFF network expansion, targeting 100% presence in Tier 1 MSAs and strategic penetration of Tier 2 markets while optimizing site selection through advanced demand modeling and space utilization algorithms
Data-Driven Root Cause Analysis: Dive deep into inventory, operational, and financial metrics to identify systemic inefficiencies and untapped opportunity to develop scalable solutions.
ASIN Selection & Inventory Strategy: Own the evolution of SFF's selection methodology , utilizing advanced optimization models that balance space efficiency, demand stability, and profitability across multiple supply streams - while adapting to selection decisions Amazon-wide.
Operational Excellence & Scaling: Drive continuous improvement initiatives that push site throughput while reducing variable cost per unit, through strategic partnership with Operations.
Advanced Analytics & Forecasting: Evaluate and improve existing forecasting models for volume planning, capacity management, and financial projections, ensuring accurate weekly/daily demand predictions that support labor planning and inventory optimization
Strategic Partnership Development: Build and maintain relationships with key vendors, retail partners, and internal stakeholders to negotiate optimal inbound strategies, manage vendor compliance, and drive adoption of new fulfillment methodologies
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- 5+ years of supply chain experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
- Experience in root cause analysis and troubleshooting or problem solving
- Experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives/projects, or experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
