The opportunity:

The Rail Procurement team conducts negotiations in excess of $400MM in spend. This position will support the Rail Procurement Department with ad-hoc analytics, savings identification and reporting, and any other items as needed.

 

How you will impact WestRock:

Analyze low-cost modes between Rail, Intermodal and Truck to benchmark Rail network.Responsible for all inbound recycle and woodchip pricing across the mill networkLead demurrage initiatives related to reporting, savings projects and CTO goalsManage new railcar lease negotiations, fleet optimization analyses and lessor relationshipsMaintain Rate Request Tracker Support Rail Procurement with RFP analysis and data management.Ad hoc analysis to support operations and sourcing projects.Maintains rail route guides and rate tables and ensures consistency throughout various systemsRail Tariff Management and Knowledge ResourceReview and Audit Lease Fleet Cycle Efficiency / Cost EvaluationAssist in report/presentation development for upper-level communicationSupport the Team by leveraging QTS Tool AnalyticsWork with FAP to review account statements and approve / deny invoicesReview, analyze, and execute all rail diversion and re-bill requestsMonitor and report on US Rail Desktop and FTR Rail Market IndicesMaintain Rail Carrier Service Log


What you need to succeed:

Bachelor's degree in Transportation Management, or Supply Chain Management is preferred. 1 to 3 Years Logistics Experience RequiredRail Industry Experience PreferredAble to clearly and effectively communicate to peers and upper leadershipStrong analytical and conceptual skills. Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Skills.  Ability to manage rapidly changing deadlines and prioritiesSelf-motivated mentalitySome travel required
