Position: Senior Solution Architect – Cyber Security (Pre-Sales)

Role Overview:
The Senior Solution Architect will serve as a trusted technical advisor within the Cyber Security practice, driving solution strategy, design, and customer engagement in alignment with Black Box’s portfolio. This role is primarily pre-sales focused, requiring close collaboration with sales teams, product specialists, and customers to shape and position winning security solutions. The incumbent will play a key role in technical pursuits, bid defense, and solution evangelism, while ensuring feasibility, scalability, and value for the client.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Sales Engagement: Partner with sales teams during pursuits to position cyber security solutions effectively, articulate value propositions, and address customer requirements.
Solution Design: Develop high-level and detailed solution architectures across the cyber security stack (network security, endpoint, identity, cloud, data protection, SOC solutions, etc.), ensuring alignment with client business goals.
Customer Workshops & Presentations: Lead discovery sessions, PoCs, and technical workshops with customers to uncover needs, validate solution fit, and differentiate Black Box offerings.
Bid Defense & Proposals: Act as the technical lead in RFP/RFI responses, bid defense meetings, and proposal development — providing solution descriptions, scope, and estimation inputs.
Technology Evangelism: Stay abreast of emerging threats, standards, and security technologies; evangelize innovative solutions internally and externally to strengthen practice positioning.
Costing & Estimation: Provide inputs on effort estimation, resource planning, and timelines to support accurate costing models for proposals.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (delivery, practice leads, and product partners) to ensure seamless handoff from design to execution.
Desired Skills & Experience:
7+ years of proven experience as a Solution Architect / Pre-Sales Consultant in the cyber security domain.
Strong technical knowledge across security solutions: firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, IAM, cloud security, SIEM/SOC platforms, zero trust architectures, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
Experience in conducting technology assessments, security posture evaluations, and solution recommendations.
Demonstrated success in leading customer-facing presentations, workshops, and technical negotiations.
Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities; ability to translate complex requirements into actionable architectures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, CISM, vendor-specific security certifications) are an advantage.
