Mechanical Design Engineer – DFX & Product Development
Our client, a leading innovator in the medical device space, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in Design for Excellence (DFX) to support the development of scalable, high-quality products. Role Overview
In this role, you’ll be instrumental in applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles early in the product development cycle to optimize cost, improve quality, and streamline production. You’ll collaborate with contract manufacturers to implement scalable systems and support new product development from concept through verification testing.
Key Responsibilities
+ Integrate DFM and cost optimization strategies into mechanical design
+ Develop rapid prototypes and define design input requirements
+ Collaborate with contract manufacturers to build adaptable, scalable production systems
+ Document risks, test methods, and verification protocols in alignment with regulatory standards
+ Interface with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, supply chain, quality, regulatory, and engineering
Required Skills & Experience
+ Proven experience in medical device design and development
+ Strong knowledge of DFX, DFM, FMEA/FMECA, DHF, and root cause analysis
+ Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks
+ Hands-on experience with CNC machining and 3D printing
+ Familiarity with design control processes and prototype development

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $126000.00 - $220200.00/yr.
