The Senior Quality Engineer will play a key role in supporting the quality assurance activities for aerospace components and systems. This position is responsible for driving compliance with aerospace industry standards (AS9100, FAA, NADCAP), leading continuous improvement initiatives, managing customer and regulatory requirements, and supporting supplier quality. The Sr. QE will also mentor quality inspectors, junior engineers and support cross-functional teams to ensure product conformance and process excellence.
**This position will be located onsite in San Marcos, TX. Eligible for relocation.**
**What You Will Do:**
+ Ensure compliance with AS9100, FAA, and customer-specific quality requirements.
+ Lead root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (RCCA/CAPA), and 8D problem-solving for internal issues and customer complaints.
+ Support First Article Inspection (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 and oversee production part approval processes (PPAP where applicable).
+ Conduct and lead internal audits, supplier audits, and quality system reviews; track and verify closure of non-conformances.
+ Participate in new product introduction (NPI) programs to ensure quality is built into the design and manufacturing processes.
+ Develop, implement, and maintain quality plans, inspection methods, and process validations.
+ Review engineering change orders (ECOs), drawings, and specifications for quality impact.
+ Serve as the point of contact for customer quality issues, audits, and product reviews.
+ Apply statistical analysis (SPC, MSA, DOE) and Six Sigma methodologies to identify and eliminate sources of variation.
+ Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and supply chain to improve product quality and process capability.
+ Develop and maintain quality metrics, support audits, and participate in quality system and process improvements.
+ Identifies and manages risk in product development primarily utilizing and driving PPAP core elements (e.g.: Process Flow Diagrams, Measurement System Analysis, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, and Process Control Plan, etc.).
+ Generates, manages, and presents/reports Key Process Indicators (KPIs) for the site including but not limited to: Scrap Rework Repair, Pareto by Defects, Repeat/Defects Per Unit, First Pass Yield, all Escapes, Audit Findings, etc.
+ Well versed in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and able to recommend various Inspection Methodologies for proper inspection of hardware
+ Able to draft technical documents (e.g.: Inspection Plans, local Work Instructions, Controlled procedures, Standard Illustrated Plannings, etc.).
**Qualifications/Experience Needed:**
+ Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience **or** an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

+ Experience supporting AS9100 Quality Management System requirements (e.g. Non-Conformity Metrics Management, Risk Analysis, Audit support, etc.).
**Qualifications we prefer:**
+ Working knowledge of Net Inspect
+ Previous experience in Material Review Board with dispositioning of nonconforming hardware
+ Working knowledge of SAP
+ Familiarity with NADCAP special processes (e.g., heat treat, NDT, chemical processing)
+ ASQ CQI is a plus, ASQ CQE
+ Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
+ Experience with Tableau, Power Bi or other digital data visualization tools
+ Experience using AS9145 APQP / PPAP core elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow Diagrams and Control Plans, etc.).

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
