Airswift is currently seeking a highly experienced Senior QA/QC Engineer to join a leading Oil & Gas company in Qatar for a major solar project.

Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls Engineering, or a related field) or higher qualification from internationally recognized universities. IRCA Certified QMS Lead Auditor Certification or equivalent. ASNT Level-II Certifications in RT/MT/PT/UT (preferred). Professional certification/affiliation with recognized international quality organizations (e.g., CQI, ASQ) is desirable.
Experience: Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas industry, including at least 5 years in a lead QA/QC role. Extensive experience in large-scale solar (Photovoltaic) construction projects and a strong background in Quality Management Systems. Brownfield project experience is a plus. Hands-on experience in major EPIC projects with involvement in all phases (E-P-I-C) and proven ability to independently manage or lead QA/QC functions with technical expertise in a core discipline. Strong knowledge of equipment/material manufacturing, inspection, and certification processes, along with associated QA/QC practices. Experience managing or coordinating QA/QC for multiple projects simultaneously from a corporate office environment is desirable. Familiarity with Shell DEPs and international codes/standards such as IEC, NEC, ASME, ASTM, NACE, AWS, API, BS, ISO, and applicable local regulations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Lead and manage a multi-discipline QA/QC team (including QC Engineers and Inspectors) to ensure that Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and procedures are effectively implemented and followed throughout the project lifecycle. Provide guidance to departmental staff and project teams on ISO 9001 standards, QMS documentation, and certification requirements. Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards (e.g., IEC 62446, UL 3703, NFPA 70), in addition to meeting contractual obligations. Act as the QA/QC focal point for assigned projects, coordinating with contractors, corporate, and external QMS auditors. Plan and participate in audits throughout contract execution. Foster a culture of continual improvement in quality practices and conduct quality awareness/training sessions for site teams and subcontractors. Support incident investigations and root cause analyses related to quality failures impacting safety or performance. Develop departmental and project-level Quality Management System (QMS) documentation in alignment with standards and oversee its implementation across contracts. Prepare Project Quality Plans (PQP), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and ensure contractor PQPs/KPIs are aligned with requirements. Monitor and enforce implementation of QMS requirements during all project phases by internal teams and contractors. Provide monthly and quarterly compliance reports. Participate in pre-qualification of Contractors, Sub-Contractors, and Vendors as required. Monitor and enforce compliance with ISO 9001 and  quality standards. Participate in technical bid evaluations to ensure quality requirements are addressed and understood by all Bidders. Review Scope of Services (SOS) and Scope of Work (SOW) to confirm inclusion of quality and technical requirements, including QA/QC deliverables and related engineering/construction documents. Review and approve QA/QC documentation from Contractors and Vendors for all project phases including engineering, procurement, and construction—especially welding and testing procedures. Evaluate and respond to technical queries and deviations related to welding and non-destructive testing (NDT). Review engineering and construction deliverables with an emphasis on QA/QC compliance. Coordinate with discipline specialists on materials, corrosion, special processes, etc. Ensure deviation and non-conformance control systems are in place to meet departmental compliance. Verify resolution and closure of NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and CARs (Corrective Action Requests). Perform quality surveillance and oversee construction work across all project sites. Attend weekly/monthly contractor meetings and monitor site QC inspector activities.
