Sr. Product Owner
Job Description Seeking a Sr Product Owner that has worked within data driven projects to work for a large financial client in Charlotte, NC. Responsibilities include defining the vision and roadmap for the product, defining and prioritizing stories in the product backlog, and articulating this to both stakeholders and the development team. This role works closely with stakeholders to understand their needs. They are developing in the role of a Product Owner, possessing a working knowledge of the product, and basic understanding of the business or technology domain. Responsible for onboarding Collibra Data Quality (installed centrally and bringing in different LOB users to onboard onto the platform). Will be the liaison between business and tech partners working with roughly 10 tenants for onboarding (for testing, demos, pilots). The team is also standing up a Center of Excellence for Data Quality where they are analyzing other tools similar currently used at the company and identifying consolidation efforts. Key Responsibilities With some guidance, create the vision and roadmap for the product to align with strategic direction for the business or technology domain. Communicate the product vision and roadmap to stakeholders and the team. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and problems. Create and prioritize work for a team, learning to collaborate with cross-functional teams. With some guidance, creates and prioritizes stories in the product backlog. Refine stories with the team to ensure there are enough ready stories to load the next 1-2 sprints. Review and accept stories and make on-the-spot decisions regarding scope and requirements. Work in partnership with the team to ensure that optimum value is obtained through technology and through an advanced understanding of the business Required Qualifications Experience with Product Ownership/Product management Analytical and problem-solving skills Working knowledge of products, services, business flows and understanding of financial context in which technology and operating principles are used within their business area. Great written and verbal communication Facilitates team planning ceremonies against backlog/prioritized work. Manages risk/dependencies/impediments for one team. Ability to answer teams Agile/waterfall framework questions. Experience in one or more financial domain. Contributes to artifacts needed for governance forums. Understands Stakeholder expectations and creates regular updates to keep stakeholders informed. Desired Qualifications Basic awareness of architecture and design. Ability to comply with bank standards for information security and business architectures. Basic knowledge of automation and continuous delivery practices. Ability to participate in their role and utilize necessary tools with minimal guidance Basic awareness of architecture and design. Skills and Requirements 8+ years in a Product Manager/Product Owner role Financial Services industry Documenting use case and processes Experience working on data driven teams (data mgmt., data governance, etc.) Strong backend knowledge (ETL process, etc.) Jira Excel SQL (simple queries) Data Quality Basic awareness of architecture and design Ability to comply with bank standards for information security and business architectures Basic knowledge of automation and continuous delivery practices.
