Job Description

Position Summary

The Senior Procurement Manager for the CMD (Chromatography & Mass Spectrometry) Division plays a key role in advancing the division’s supply base strategy. In this role, you will support strategic development, lead critical transformation initiatives, and improve supplier performance and risk management metrics. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure sourcing strategies align with business needs and help drive growth and operational efficiency across CMD.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of the CMD supply base strategy to enhance supplier performance, risk management, margin improvement, and innovation.

• Lead selected transformation initiatives that strengthen the supply base and ensure alignment with CMD’s long-term business objectives.

• Conduct strategic analyses to identify opportunities for supply base optimization, productivity improvements, and adoption of new technologies.

• Lead key supplier identification, qualification, and performance management processes within assigned categories or technology areas.

• Drive targeted supplier development programs that improve quality, delivery, and capability maturity.

• Monitor supply base health metrics and proactively identify risk areas and mitigation plans.

• Partner with category management, business procurement teams, operations, R&D, and quality to ensure alignment between supply strategies and business needs.

• Prepare and present updates on program progress, supplier performance, and strategic initiatives to CMD procurement leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

Education 

A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain/Materials Management, Business Logistics or a related area or equivalent; Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or MBA.

Experience 

10+ years of procurement / category management experience 3+ years’ experience of negotiation skills and formulating the business requirements for a commercial trade contract 3+ years’ experience of global sourcing for a global multinational manufacturing company and leading Global Value Sourcing projects, “Cradle to Grave” Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in commodity sourcing or direct project sourcing and management or purchasing and commercial management Experience from a project management role under a consultancy organization is preferredExperience with low cost sourcing and supplier quality assessment.
