Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. **Job Summary:** The Operations and Supply Chain organization has an opportunity for a talented professional to join our team in a critical Supplier Engineering role within who will be involved in all aspects of planning and executing the production of our wide range of weapon systems, from tactical missiles to strategic defense products. You will provide technical knowledge & process capability expertise to improve supplier performance. You will be involved in all phases of product life cycles, beginning with proposal development, new product development, advanced manufacturing initiatives and continuing through production implementation. You will ensure technical data packages are complete and accurate and that the supplier technical performance meets the objectives of quality, cost and schedule. You will drive Raytheon design requirements to improve manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers. You will initiate continuous and measurable design and process improvement of supplier hardware for affordability. **This is a remote position with travel up to 50% international travel in support of supplier support and development.** Senior Principal Engineer serves as the primary technical point of contact between various suppliers, commodity, program, and engineering groups ensuring collaboration to resolve technical issues, enhance efficiencies, and optimize overall product yield. This group works with **energetics and electromechanical commodities** . You will utilize data analysis, CORE methodologies, and technical expertise to drive improvements in supplier performance, including manufacturing on-time delivery (OTD) and performance capability metrics, contributing to cost-effectiveness and affordability. You will lead critical projects that significantly impact business objectives, mentor, and coach supplier engineers to develop competencies, and advance the supplier engineering organization. **What you will do:** + Work with cross-functional teams to execute projects that address obsolescence, improve supply chain performance, and promote growth + Collaborate with program and product teams to support new production contracts, new product proposals, and product integration efforts, ensuring alignment across all functions. + Apply Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce inefficiencies, meet cost, quality, and on-time delivery goals, and improve overall manufacturing performance + Communicate and translate technical data packages to suppliers + Communicate the technical health of our suppliers to stakeholders + Conduct supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity and risk + Perform technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis + Manage supplier requests for product and process changes + Manage product non-conformances; drive root cause and corrective action + Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities **Qualifications you must have:** + Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant engineering experience in either quality, operations or manufacturing. + Experience with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing Principles or other continuous improvement methodologies. + Experience with new production contracts and/or new product proposals + Experience as a Project Lead, or team lead with experience working cross-functionally with teams such as: supply chain, IPT, and or production/business management, and the customer. + **Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
