Mechanical Engineering (ME), in support of the production & development of subsystems used in Naval Air Power systems, is looking to hire an Execution Chief Engineer (ECE) to lead the Tomahawk Production & Recertification team. This role is responsible for leading the technical, schedule, & financial execution of a multi-disciplinary engineering team to deliver Tomahawk missiles to the US Navy. The complexity & criticality of this role is significant given the scope of responsibility includes the combination of continuous proposal activities that drive program growth along with the strategic planning & execution of five active contracts for Tomahawk missile deliveries. These deliveries encompass full-rate production, recertification, warranty returns, flight test, & missile kits such as telemetry and range safety products. Additionally, multiple new missile configurations are being introduced to the production line, and the US Navy and foreign militaries are increasing their demand for Tomahawk missiles which requires executing capacity enhancement initiatives. The scope and complexity of the Tomahawk Production & Recertification Engineering Team’s responsibilities will substantially increase in 2025 due to three new production & recertification contracts. This will increase the Tomahawk portfolio contract value to more than $2B. The Production & Recertification Engineering Team’s staff level is forecasted to grow from 50 to 80+ full-time engineers to support this growth. **What You Will Do:** + Ensure a balanced approach of technical, cost and schedule execution are achieved by the Engineering team across the Tomahawk program for multiple domestic and international customers, including chairing all technical reviews and support of program reviews (Gate, Design, Program, etc.). + Align all technical solutions with COAs that meet the goals of the company and the customer and ensure a disciplined approach of technical integrity to meeting the customer needs for long term product success. + Actively participate in monitoring the resolution of systemic product issues that directly affect our ability to deliver quality products to our customer, including the resolution of fielded issues across the multiple Naval Air Power products. + Provides domestic & international customer high confidence in our technical approach and solutions that meet their needs with the Raytheon Brand reliability. + Mentors & provides professional leadership growth opportunities to junior chief engineers and IPTLs on all programs. Serves as a direct mentor & leader for engineering staff within the Naval Air Power product Line, & forms apprentice relationship for rapid growth of talent. + Drive the Engineering EAC process to ensure predictable execution across the program and to meet and/or exceed cost, schedule, and technical requirements. + Support proposals that drive new business pursuits and influence technical and product line roadmaps, ensuring they are reflected in program planning and execution. + Drive positive change within the production environment as a key stakeholder in Failure Review Boards, FRACAS activities and other continuous improvement efforts. + Technically engage with major subcontractors & partners to ensure product deliverables + Direct a team of multi-disciplined engineers in support of system development, integration, & checkout. + Provide technical advisory disposition for Export / Import compliance. + Identify key staffing needs & gaps and resolve them by working in collaboration with functional Engineering Leadership. **The Sr. Principal Mech Engr, Tomahawk ECE Prod & Recert job is in Tucson, AZ and the position is onsite.** **Qualifications You Must Have:** + Typically requires a Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience. In absence of a degree, 14+ years of experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience + Experience in developing work plans, driving execution, & leading engineering teams + Experience in leading & conducting missile trade studies + Experience in missile system development and design, + Experience in missile systems requirements development and management, and/or missile system integration and test + Experience in Earned value Management System (EVMS), Estimates at Completion (EAC) & Estimates to Complete (ETCs) (i.e. managing resources with multi-million-dollar annual budgets) + Experience in strategic development, customer interface, and/or contract capture in the Defense Industry. + Experience in transition to production, Technical Data Package development, qualification of hardware, & configuration management of TDP. **Qualifications We Prefer:** + Prior experience in a technical leadership role & experience across the development lifecycle + Leveled (L) or non-leveled (NL) within the Office of the Chief Engineer (NL or L4 or higher) + Experience in leading and executing the design & development of complex system architectures + Demonstrated experience across the product lifecycle, including concept development, architecture, design, integration, verification, & production + Proven ability to develop effective internal & external customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and continued business + Direct experience with Engineering Risks and Opportunities (R&O) Management **What We Offer:** + Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
