Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Engineer, Nondestructive Inspection (NDI) - Materials and Process (M&P) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Melbourne, FL. The successful candidate should have substantial experience with ultrasonic non-destructive inspection methods with regards to composite materials.

Key responsibilities include:
Perform material inspections to identify flaws/defects
Generate inspection plans, validation/verification plans & reports
Analyze, research, design, and develop NDI processes to develop and optimize for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems
May review and approve subcontractor material inspection procedures
May travel to subcontractor locations
Basic Qualifications:
Sr Principal: Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with 8 years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree in a relevant discipline with 6 years of relevant experience. Note: An additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience in NDI
Experience with performing Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) on composites
Experience with repair processes for composite materials used in aerospace structures
Experience with ultrasonic (UT) NDI methods with regards to composite materials
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access (PAR/SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
Current, in-scope DoD Secret clearance (or higher)
Current Special Program Access (PAR/SAP)
Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline such as Materials Science
Experience dispositioning engineering allowances in NDI
Primary Level Salary Range: $107,800.00 - $161,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
