As part of the Worldwide Environment team, Amazon's Worldwide Carbon team is dedicated to working across the company with our business units to make operational changes to accelerate solutions and decarbonize our businesses in service of The Climate Pledge. The Supplier Decarbonization team needs a program leader to build and scale our supplier enablement efforts for carbon free electricity. You will create a unified global approach that helps thousands of suppliers reduce emissions across Amazon's supply chain. You will: - Lead our supplier-facing initiative from strategy through execution - Work directly with internal sustainability, business, and energy teams - Collaborate with external stakeholders to drive supplier participation across regions - Design and deliver effective global programs This role requires experience in energy markets, supplier sustainability, or energy transition initiatives. Key job responsibilities - Lead the development and delivery of supplier enablement approaches that support adoption of carbon free energy. - Apply energy and supplier sustainability expertise to shape scalable solutions across our global supply chain. - Partner with internal sustainability, energy, and business teams to guide effective execution. - Engage external stakeholders to support supplier participation and solution delivery. - Support expansion across priority regions globally, accounting for regional and local regulatory conditions. - Assess effectiveness and refine approaches using supplier feedback and market insights. - Identify and address technical, market, and structural barriers to carbon free energy adoption. - Define success measures and monitor progress toward emissions-reduction objectives. - Advise leadership on strategy, risks, and opportunities related to supplier carbon free energy. Basic Qualifications - Knowledge of key technology and market trends - Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership while working cross functionally across several teams - 10+ years of experience in clean energy, sustainability, or related fields, including work supporting energy transition or emissions-reduction initiatives. - Demonstrated experience developing and delivering supplier-facing sustainability or clean energy enablement efforts across multiple stakeholders. - Experience engaging suppliers to build capability, reduce adoption barriers, and support participation in sustainability initiatives. Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or a MBA and experience working with stakeholders - Experience with supplier or vendor relationship management - Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem solving abilities - • Knowledge of clean energy markets and procurement mechanisms - • Understanding of carbon accounting and emissions reporting frameworks - • Experience working with sustainability-focused NGOs and industry coalitions Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
